Some Great Fabric Choices

Just in case you are interested. I have a few more fabric combinations that will make some super cute dresses.

Here is the first one. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this fabric. It's called art gallery fabric.

Here is the next set. It's the cupcake fabric, but with a vanilla background. Believe me, the green polka dots make this the cutest dress EVER!





And finally, this is another great set. It's perfect for all you purply lavender people. It is BEAUTIFUL fabric and will make a beautiful dress.

Dresses For Sale

In an effort to continue to raise money for our adoption, I have fired up my sewing machine once again. I will be making some dresses as I have time and will be listing them on both facebook on my blog. they will be on a first come, first serve basis. If you like it and want it, just let me know. We can work out the payment later. I can mail it if you live away from here too!

So, without delay, here's the first dress that is complete and available for purchase. It is a pillowcase style dress that is made out of to die for fabric. It is a size 2T, but Jadyn can easily wear it and she wears a 3T. Because of the way it's made, it very adjustable. It ties on one shoulder and the tie is made from the coordinating fabric. In other words, it don't slip through and untie as easy as ribbon does. Its a great little dress.

Fun Creations

I am ramping up my sewing business and have several things in the works. My dear friend Terri sent me this precious design that she found on a websites list of free designs. It's a new technique that I had never tried and oh, it turned out so cute. I LOVE it.

Annual Red Thread Picture

I had the bright idea of taking or having Jadyn's picture taken for Pat's Father's day gift with the "red thread" in her hand. The picture at the top of this blog is the one that I took from last year.

This year, I took her to have Alison take the picture for me, but as you have already read, she acted like a total barbarian. It was quite the fiasco. Oh well, it's really a beautiful picture of our very beautiful girl. The picture looked beautiful framed in a black frame with a large white mat. Here is the picture so you can see it. So, what do you think???


And yes, I made the dress.

Happy Easter

So, yes, I realize that it is Tuesday already and I have not yet posted any pictures of Jadyn on Easter. She was a little under the weather, but over the top with cuteness!! She was by far, the prettiest Chinese princess that we have ever seen.

She started her morning at 6:00 a.m. with a fever, so we knew that it was not going to be a good thing. She felt pretty good off and on, but most of the day she was just sort of blah. But, thankfully, we think we have isolated the culprit and it seems that there is a terrible molar peeking through that gum. Looks like tooth #17 is on it's way through!

Meanwhile, enjoy the pics.

Sewing Business Name!

Congratulations, Kelly Stewart, your name won!!  Kelly's name idea was Red Thread Creations.  I have some good news and bad news.

First, the good news!   I mentioned that I might give a prize and I had planned on giving the winner a "free monogram or embroidered name" on anything that I make or that they might already have.  Oddly enough, Kelly emailed me and asked me to do a shirt for Bradley's birthday.  So, Kelly didn't know it, but she gets to collect on her prize right away.  I made the cutest shirt for Bradley for his second birthday and Kelly's monograming was FREE!  

Now, the bad news. :(  I can't use Red Thread Creations, it's already taken, along with most everything else under the sun.  I am trying to find a domain name, business name, etc. all at one time and that's tough.  The name Red Thread Creations.com is available, but the business name is not.  Redthreadsdesigns is not available as a domain name.  I'm having trouble getting the two to match.

My original idea was "Love Threads".  Of course, the .com version of that is taken, so I'm thinking "Love Threads" Designs/Creations or whatever else you can come up with.  What do you think?  I really did take all your suggestions to heart and really do care about what you think, I promise :)

It's Official! I'm in Business!!!!

Well, I have some exciting news.  I have purchased a new sewing machine and a new embroidery machine!  WOO HOO!  I am so excited, SO, I am officially in the sewing business.  I am working on Jadyn's easter dress and lots of fun creations for babies, jumpers for girls, and fun fun stuff!  Stay tuned for more information.  I am working on a website to pedal my wares and I am really anxious to get some orders and get going.  I've got a goal in mind with my sewing, but more information on that later!!!

I'm working on a name for my business.  Any suggestions?  I'm looking for a creative name.

Here's Another One!

I LOVE this fabric. This is another reversible jumper. The red/orange side has bugs appliqued on it and the other side is black fabric with bugs on it. It says word like EEK, Gross etc. It's really cute fabric. Jadyn looks so cure in black, this too, is one of my very favorite ones. I'm now working on my "fall line" so stay tuned for more goodies. I have just finished perhaps my very favorite jumper ever. I'm really into corduroy and my latest one is definitely a fave.

A Stitch in Time

Here's outfit #2. The jumper is reversible with the pink on one side and the polka dots on the other side. I made the green pants in tiny little corduroy. The third picture is Zac trying to button the model's jumper. Models are just so temperamental these days, you just can't find good help. Stay tuned, more to come tomorrow.

THE FISH DRESS!
Well, you ask for it, here is a few things that I have been making for Miss Priss. The fish dress is one of my favorites. She has got alot of wear out of it this summer.

My Mother was a wonderful seamstress and she always made sure that I knew the basics. I did take a refresher class on basic sewing, which I highly recommend. Occasionally, I have to look on the internet to find out what something means in the directions, but all in all, it goes pretty well. I love sewing and wish I had alot more time, but, if I had more time, I wouldn't have anyone to sew for! Right?
